THE DR. LATORIA CHINN ENTREPRENEUR SCHOLARSHIP FUND
HISTORY: The Dr. LaToria Chinn Entrepreneur Scholarship Fund was officially founded in April 2019 however, contributions started several years before. Through the mentorship and generosity of Dr. Chinn, financial contributions to the students of EBB were made so that aspiring entrepreneurs had the opportunity to receive business training in 12-week sessions. The passion and dedication of Dr. Chinn is embodied in her achievements in economic development, education and entrepreneurship.
ELIGIBILITY: This fund is intended to carry on her legacy of excellence by subsidizing the expenses for aspiring low-to-moderate African American Entrepreneurs from Wyandotte County, KS to attend programs offered by EBB.
All applicants will be required to submit an application which includes the following:
- Completed EBB Application (online or written)
- 500 Word Summary of your business concept explaining your desire to become an entrepreneur and how your business would change the future of your family and community.
AWARDS AND USAGE: Applications are accepted at any time during the calendar year and awarded per program being offered. Funding is intended to support the participation in EBB programs only and at no time will the applicant receive any stipend, check or cash.
REQUIREMENTS: Awardees are required to complete the length of whatever EBB program they are awarded to attend and make a final presentation of their experience at the closing ceremony in front of the scholarship committee.
